How It All Works - Web Development Process
Problem solving in business involves a number of conceptual steps and is
rarely a simple process. The right solution to any business problem or
opportunity requires clearly defining the problem to be solved. Problems
are not simply objective situations but depend greatly on how organizations
and the people involved define the challenges. Solutions depend on how
problems are defined. At OC3 Media, we employ a five phase approach in
our development cycle known as 'DADI-P';
> Definition.
During this phase, the scope and
breadth of the project is defined. This is the opportunity for both customer
and developer to reach an accord
as to the budgetary issues and delivery timeline.
> Architecture.
The architecture phase takes information
gathered from the definition phase and synthesizes it in a manner that
is clear and concise. The concrete
timeline is created during this phase. This period is perhaps the most
important because good planning equates to a successful site and positive
creative experience.
> Design.
The design phase is when analysis and planning becomes
a reality. There will be continued communication between developer
and client to ensure project
goals are being met. Developmental testing is an invaluable tool that
we utilize to elicit client feedback.
> Implementation.
This phase marks the actual delivery of the software
application or web site. There is an agreed upon period during implementation
in which
updates or changes to content or structure are made . Implementation is
the roll-out phase.
> Post Implementation.
This phase begins by definition, once the site
is up and running. It is during this time that the maintenance contract
is initiated.
Also important during the post implementation phase, is the marketing of
the clients web site to search engines and any other medium that was agreed
upon
and a part of the development budget.
